Dr Joseph (Joe) Walker, BSc, PhD (died 15 August 2019, aged 78)
Joe studied at Queen’s where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Botany in 1964 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Ecology in 1967.
He immigrated to Australia where he worked for the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) for many years up until retirement. He had a distinguished research career in the Division of Land, Water and Use within CSIRO.
Joe is survived by his second wife Janet, six children and step-children, and six grandchildren.
